Wednesday Shorts: The Blacksmith

After last weeks silliness, I wanted to take a turn back to the kind of short films that tend to really grab my attention and imagination. This weeks offering does not disappoint in any way.

Moody, atmospheric, and brimming with that quality of a story not fully told, The Blacksmith is everything I love to see in short films. In under four minutes, it gives us a taste of a world that leaves us wanting more, and firing our imaginations to fill in the blanks.

Brought to us by Unity as an example of what kind of creation is possible using the engine, it makes a strong case not just for the power of Unity, but for CGI storytelling, all without a word of dialogue.

Take a look, and remember, if you are more savvy with this kind of thing than I am, go look up Unity and bring your own creations to life.
